Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician East Jefferson General Hospital | Metairie, Louisiana Why East Jefferson General Hospital Established and respected Hospital Medicine program Collaborative physician-led culture Strong specialty support and consultative services Advanced technology and resources Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package CME allowance and paid time off Malpractice coverage Retirement savings opportunities Located in Metairie, just minutes from New Orleans, offering a vibrant culture, world‑class dining, and an exceptional quality of life Position Highlights Full‑time nocturnist schedule Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients across a variety of medical conditions Collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary teams Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and rapid patient assessments Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record Responsibilities Patient Care Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based inpatient medical care Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic medical conditions Coordinate care with consultants and interdisciplinary teams Complete patient encounters and documentation in a timely manner Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements Patient Access & Coverage Participate in an equitable physician call and coverage schedule Support patient throughput and continuity of care initiatives Quality, Safety & Compliance Adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives Maintain compliance with hospital policies and accreditation requirements Qualifications Education Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Training Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program Licensure & Certifications Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Louisiana medical license Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Skills & Experience Strong clinical decision‑making and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Proficiency with electronic medical records Commitment to patient‑centered care and clinical excellence Work Shift Nights (United States of America) Equal Opportunity Employer LCMC Health is an equal opportunity employer.
