Substitute Adjunct Instructor

Title: Temporary Instructor Adjunct Employee Classification: Faculty Institution: TCAT-Oneida/Huntsville Locations: TN - Oneida, Huntsville, Fentress, Jamestown, and Wartburg Job Summary Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida is seeking individuals, in the absence of full-time instructors, to monitor groups of students in an assigned technical college program, record attendance, direct group activities as assigned, provide instructional support to students, and distribute and collect daily assignments. Knowledge of the program/industry is preferred but not required; instructors will be placed on a Substitute Instructor list and will be called as needed. Substitutes may request to serve in specific programs or will be asked to serve in programs where they have similar experience. Programs Served Automotive Technology Building Construction Technology Computer Information Technology Cosmetology Culinary Arts (Wartburg-Evenings) Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Farming Operations Technology (Jamestown campus-Days, Wartburg campus-Evenings) Industrial Maintenance-Mechatronics Machine Tool Technology Pharmacy Technology Powerline and Construction Maintenance Welding Technology (Huntsville campus-Days, Jamestown campus-Evenings, Wartburg campus-Evenings) Job Duties Monitor groups of students in an assigned technical college program - (Essential) Record attendance - (Essential) Direct group activities as assigned - (Essential) Provide instructional support to students - (Essential) Distribute and collect daily assignments - (Essential) Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Evidence of two (2) years' work experience Preferred Qualifications Technical Certificate or Diploma Substitute teaching experience is preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to manage a classroom environment with both post-secondary and high school students Good character, mature attitude, and stable personality Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to be flexible and adapt plans to specific training programs Hourly Rate $30.00 Work Hours Day Classes: Between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (EST); no more than 6 hours per day Evening Classes (Jamestown): Between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (CST) Evening Classes (Wartburg): Between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (EST) *A criminal background check will be required for the selected applicant. #J-18808-Ljbffr Tennessee Board of Regents
