Position Summary

Basic IDIQ is seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Project Engineer to assist in and manage multiple fast-track, multi-discipline projects from RFP through final closeout. This position requires strong leadership, urgency and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects from RFP development through completion and closeout.
• Develop scopes of work, drawings and line-item cost proposals.
• Negotiate project scope and pricing with clients.
• Select, coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades.
• Review material submittals and shop drawings.
• Coordinate permits, security requirements and project documentation.
• Supervise project superintendents, subcontractors and support staff.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules and tracking reports.
• Attend client meetings, site visits, conferences and inspections.
• Implement and monitor quality-control and safety plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction project managementor equivalent construction-trade experience.
• Experience managing commercial, federal, state or municipal construction projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Experience managing client and subcontractor relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights or weekends, when required.
• Ability to pass a background check and qualify for access to federal or Department of Defense facilities.

Preferred Experience

• IDIQ, JOC, SABER, federal/DoD, state or municipal or equivalent commercial construction.
• Managing 8 to 14 concurrent fast track, design-built and bid build emergency multi-discipline projects ranging from $2,500 to $100,000.
• Microsoft Project, Procore, e4Clicks, RSMeans, eGordian, eConverge or similar software.
• Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related field or equivalent real word experience.

·        OSHA, EM 385-1-1 or USACE Construction Quality Management certifications or must be able to complete the courses within 6 months of employment.
