If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.Job DescriptionScopeThis role reports to the Director, Import Compliance and supports import compliance activities globally by executing established policies, procedures and controls; providing project execution and proposal support; and contributing to regulatory intelligence and continuous improvement initiatives.The position works closely with the Director, Import Compliance and other members of a high-performing team, as well as cross-functional stakeholders, to ensure import compliance requirements are understood, implemented consistently, and embedded into business process with a strong emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and regulatory discipline.Principal Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesExecute and support established Import Compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls under the direction of the Director, Import ComplianceMaintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing import documentation, classifications, records, and compliance deliverablesIdentify opportunities for process improvement related to import compliance execution, documentation, and workflows, and support implementation effortsPromote operational practices that demonstrate reasonable care across all import activitiesProvide import compliance support for projects and proposals, including early engagement to identify import requirements, compliance risks, and mitigation strategiesCollaborate with project teams to support compliant import execution for project‑driven importsSupport review of project import strategies, documentation requirements, and customs broker coordinationMonitor and analyze U.S. customs laws, CBP guidance, binding rulings, and enforcement trendsProvide regulatory intelligence and technical guidance to internal stakeholders to support informed business decisionsSupport preparation and submission of binding ruling requests and responses to CBP inquiries, as assignedSupport the selection, onboarding, and periodic evaluation of the Company’s primary Customs House BrokerAssist with customs broker performance monitoring, issue resolution, and escalation as appropriateSupport interactions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including audits, inquiries, and requests for informationSupport internal and external import compliance audits, monitoring activities, and self‑audits in accordance with established plansSupport post‑entry transaction reviews and corrective actions, as requiredSupport maintenance of import compliance records in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirementsProvide technical support for tariff classification, country of origin, preferential tariff treatment, and valuation of imported goods and assist with classification reviews and free issue material tracking Contribute to continuous improvement of import compliance practices related to recordkeeping and classificationOperate as a collaborative member of an established, high‑performing import compliance teamProvide compliance guidance and support to stakeholders involved in import activitiesAssist with development and maintenance of internal import compliance reference materials and training documentationParticipate in compliance‑related meetings, working groups, and initiatives, as assignedMaintain compliance with all applicable Company policies and global standardsAdhere to the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability policiesPerform other duties as assigned by the Director, Import ComplianceBasic Job RequirementsTypical Minimum Qualifications – Education, Experience & SkillsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in a relevant field of studyFourteen (14) years* of work-related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling eighteen (18) years* if non-degreedU.S. Customs Broker License or the ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe indicated by Fluor (required)Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) – preferredDemonstrated expertise in U.S. import compliance, CBP regulations, classification, recordkeeping, broker management, and audit supportAbility to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, vendors, customs authorities, and other stakeholdersStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to learn, interpret, and apply applicable local, national, and international import regulationsHigh attention to detail and ability to work in a time-sensitive and deadline-driven environmentWe are an equal opportunity employer.
