A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, Patient Services Coordinator, in Blacksburg, VA!

Position Summary

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator (Scheduler) to join our healthcare team in Blacksburg, VA. This position is responsible for providing exceptional front-office support, coordinating patient scheduling, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring a welcoming experience for patients and visitors.

Patient Services Coordinator Compensation

• The pay for this position is $17.50/hr
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Patient Services Coordinator Highlights

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• The required availability for this position Monday – Friday | 8:30am-5pm

Patient Services Coordinator Responsibilities

·         Professionally greet and welcome patients and their friends/family members.

·         Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls to appropriate personnel while relaying messages accurately between patients and clinical staff.

·         Check in patients and notify clinical staff of patient arrivals.

·         Provide and explain required paperwork prior to examinations.

·         Collect, review, scan, and file patient forms for completeness.

·         Update patient demographics and insurance information in the system.

·         Collect co-pays and outstanding balances and provide receipts.

·         Respond to routine questions via phone, electronic communication, or face-to-face interaction.

·         Record patient cancellations and missed appointments; reschedule appointments as needed.

·         Schedule outside consults and procedures ordered by physicians.

·         Coordinate CT (CAT) scans and PET scans after insurance approval.

·         Scan and copy updated insurance cards and related documents.

·         Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal guidelines.

·         Assist with general administrative duties including scanning, filing, and maintaining office supplies.

·         Maintain a clean, organized, and professional lobby area.

Patient Services Coordinator Requirements

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.

·         Minimum of 18 months of front medical office receptionist experience required.

·         Experience with insurance forms and scheduling software preferred.

·         Knowledge of medical office operations and scheduling procedures is a plus.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.

·         Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

·         Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
