This role would work on multidisciplinary projects using REVIT.General Duties:Manage multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.Deal directly with clients/owners to determine specific project needs.Lead mechanical design for healthcare facilities including hospitals, free standing emergency departments, ambulatory surgery centers and medical office buildings.Perform load calculations, equipment selection, powerhouse, mechanical room, instrumentation, controls, energy management, ductwork and piping design.Utilize Revit to create 3D models including families, schedules and system layouts.Be familiar with and apply applicable codes and owner guidelines.Review project submittals ensuring project compliance.Conduct project due diligence and construction administration trips.Prepare technical reports, project assessments and project specifications.Coach and support new engineers in developing technical and professional skills.Skills:Understanding and experience using REVIT to produce building construction documentsCapable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic.Ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, and contractors.Knowledge of building codes including ASHRAE, NFPA 99, and Tennessee Building Codes.Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.Excellent organization and time management skills.Qualifications:Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical engineering principles in the field of building construction.Experience in the design of commercial, educational, and manufacturing building designLocation: Nashville, TN Travel: 10% (Relocation Assistance will be considered)This role is eligible for performance-based bonuses, and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysWellness programs and employee assistance resourcesProfessional development supportFounded in 1975, Salas O'Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for our clients, our team, and the world.
