Posting Details Position Information Position Title Career Placement Coordinator - FTT Department Workforce Pathways Program Location Lincoln Job Category Professional Job Type Full-Time Temporary Posting Number 02239 Position End Date Position Summary Information General Description of Position Under the general direction and supervision of the SNAP Employment & Training Manager, the Career Placement Coordinator serves as a key liaison among employers, students, and educational partners in southeast Nebraska. This position leads career placement efforts for the SNAP Employment & Training and the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Programs, ensuring strong alignment between training, workforce needs, and employment outcomes. The coordinator works collaboratively with Career Skills Coaches, internal departments, and external partners to develop, implement, and expand career placement strategies that support participant success across multiple funding streams. This is a full-time, temporary, grant-funded position, funded through March 2027. Essential Functions Career Placement Lead the planning, organization, and implementation of SNAP E&T career placement strategies and activities Drive employment outcome initiatives for participants across all funding streams Collaborate with Career Skills Coaches to support participant progress and identify strategies to improve employment outcomes Coordinate career placement efforts across multiple funding streams to ensure alignment and maximize impact Analyze placement data and implement strategies to strengthen program effectiveness and employment results Student Recruitment & Support Recruit and advise youth and adult learners to participate in SNAP E&T, the Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credentials Program, and related initiatives Conduct outreach to community organizations, adult education programs, and high schools to promote healthcare, manufacturing, and skilled trades career pathways Facilitate access to support services as needed Collaborate with Career Skills Coaches and the Apprenticeship Program to support participant transition from training to employment Assist with collecting data, tracking, and reporting student progress, credential attainment, and job placement outcomes Industry Engagement & Partnership Development Build and maintain relationships with local and regional employers to identify workforce needs and employment opportunities for credential completers Coordinate employer participation in job shadowing and hiring events related to SNAP E&T and the Nebraska Manufacturing Credentials Program Work closely with the local American Job Center and area human service agencies to establish referral networks and expand access to employment opportunities Program Coordination & Communication Build and maintain collaborative relationships with SCC Continuing Education, academic programs, employers, community partners, and workforce organizations to support participant training and employment outcomes Support communication among Workforce Leadership Teams, faculty/adjuncts, divisions, and employers to maintain alignment between instruction and workplace expectations Prepare and submit periodic reports and data summaries for SNAP E&T, Nebraska Manufacturing Alliance Credential Program, and other internal/external stakeholders Assist in marketing and outreach efforts that promote program focus areas and highlight student and employer success stories Professional Growth Participate in professional conferences, meetings, and relevant local, state, or national educational activities Maintain relationships with professional counterparts and partner institutions Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all. Marginal Functions Maintain inventory of program equipment. Identify the availability of grants and similar sources of outside funding. Serve as a member of the various program advisory committees. Participate in assigned college activities such as Career Fairs. Appear at meetings and lunches or on television, radio, etc., as requested to promote the program. May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required. Perform other College functions and duties as assigned. Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Able and willing to represent the department, division, and College in a positive and professional manner. Ability to assess participant education, work experience, transferable skills, and earned credentials to support effective job placement and career advancement. Knowledge of case management principles and practices, with the ability to support participants and coordinate access to resources. Demonstrate the highest level of personal and professional integrity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and partnerships across diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of employer hiring needs, labor market trends, and regional workforce demands to support successful employment outcomes. Ability to manage and monitor multiple projects within the required deadline and budget constraints. Ability to organize and direct group dynamics for the purpose of participating in planning committees and other assigned activities. Strong personal computer experience (i.e., Microsoft Word & Excel) Ability to meet travel requirements of the position, which may include local and regional travel, varied days and hours. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone. Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary. The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in education, business, industrial technology, workforce development, or a related field. Two (2) years’ experience in workforce development, healthcare, skilled trades, career placement, or employer relations. Desired Qualifications Experience working in a community college, human resources, or training environment. Knowledge of healthcare, skilled trades, and Nebraska’s workforce ecosystem. Familiarity with data tracking and reporting for workforce or grant-funded programs. Demonstrated experience in case management or a related field, with the ability to support diverse populations and coordinate access to employment opportunities. Salary $51,566 per year Benefits SCC BEN Dollars – Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee’s paycheck. Any SCC Ben Dollars that the employee does not elect to use for the purchase of dependent health and dental insurance will be paid to the employee in cash at $0.93 per $1.00 benefit dollar. All amounts paid are subject to withholding for income and employment taxes, but not subject to the College’s contribution toward the Retirement Savings Plan – Group Retirement Account ( GRA ). Schedule Normal working hours for this full-time regular position are scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, requiring a minimum of a 40-hour workweek, based on a 260-day work calendar.
