Pay Rate: $27.63 – $29.20

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for assisting supervisor in keeping department operating efficiently.

2. Responsible for overseeing receiving and other warehouse processes and personnel to ensure quality standards are performed according to established procedures.

3. Responsible for the receipt of purchased goods, verifying counts and quality, complete transactions to receive product, process paperwork and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures. Locate product to the appropriate areas according to procedure.

4. Responsible for inspecting freight upon arrival, and document any signs of damage.

5. Responsible for performing supervisory duties as needed.

6. Responsible for operating machines or performing jobs in other departments as needed.

7. Responsible for assisting supervision in regard to safety, housekeeping and employee job performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL/SAFETY:

1. Follow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.

2. Follow prescribed safety rules/procedures in an effort to prevent injury to self and others.

3. Seek the assistance and advice of safety representatives on matters concerning safe practices, policies and/or procedures and provide support for all safety committee activity.

4. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.

5. Report environmental and safety policy violations to supervision/management.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Normal warehouse working conditions, shift schedule may vary.

2. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

3. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.

4. Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50-75 pounds.

5. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.

2. Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and write legibly.

3. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.

4. Judgments concerning operation of department are encountered.

5. Must have outstanding work habits.

6. Must be familiar with warehouse operating systems.

7. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.

8. Must be able to shift priorities easily.

9. Must be able to work well with others.

10. Must have good attendance record, and cannot have an active final written warning disciplinary status.
