Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience at a tertiary, Level I trauma teaching hospital for a 26-week night shift travel assignment in Portland, ME.

Details

• Work in a large tertiary, Level I trauma teaching hospital covering the entire facility
• Respiratory therapy team consists of 14–16 RRTs per shift
• Patient population includes adult acute and critical care, pediatric acute care, NICU, PICU, and ED
• Patient ratios: 1:25 in acute care and 1:8 in critical care settings
• Ventilators and equipment used include Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• On-call requirement: 2-hour call obligation for the oncoming shift
• Floating required across the facility, including NICU/PICU, pediatric acute care, ED, and adult acute and critical care areas
• Float policy includes potential travel between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed

Requirements

• RRT credential required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU coverage
• Minimum 3 years of RRT experience
• Tertiary, Level I trauma center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings within the facility, including adult critical care, pediatrics, NICU, PICU, and the ED
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Scrubs are provided or flexible scrub colors are acceptable
• Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
