Job Description
This Manufacturing Engineer role focuses on supporting new product introductions and existing production on the shop floor. The position requires a strong experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering and involves leading capital equipment installations, optimizing production processes, and providing hands-on support to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support on the shop floor, working closely with production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Lead and coordinate capital equipment installations, including planning, implementation, and validation of new machinery and tooling.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by developing and refining manufacturing processes, work instructions, and documentation for new builds.
• Assist with NPI builds, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to full production and maintaining alignment with quality and efficiency targets.
• Support current production by analyzing performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that engineering changes are effectively integrated into manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to the optimization of layout, workflow, and resource utilization to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering (ME) or industrial engineering (IE) in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience providing shop floor support for manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience with capital equipment installation and integration into existing production lines.
• Demonstrated ability to support new product introduction (NPI) from engineering through to production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, and best practices.
• Ability to analyze production data and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (preferred).
• Experience supporting both new builds and ongoing production in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities between different production teams.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and shop floor environment where you work closely with manufacturing teams and equipment on a daily basis. The position involves active participation in capital installations, NPI builds, and ongoing support of existing production lines. You can expect a collaborative atmosphere with cross-functional interaction, a focus on process improvement, and hands-on engagement with manufacturing processes and machinery.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chillicothe, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
