Key Responsibilities

• Apply clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential cardiovascular health conditions
• Provide specialized care for cardiology patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers
• Care for post-operative open heart surgery patients in the early recovery phase (18-24 hours post-op)
• Manage patients with congestive heart failure and support electrophysiology study care
• Demonstrate EKG proficiency and apply cardiac monitoring skills throughout patient care
• Float to similar units as needed to support staffing and patient care continuity

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and Nursys verification required)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac nursing care required
• EKG comfortability required
• Willingness to float to similar units required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application is required
• Must be a travel nurse candidate; candidates with a permanent address within 35 miles of the facility are considered local travelers and may be subject to a reduced travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity cardiovascular or stepdown environment
• Familiarity with national clinical trial protocols or research-supported care settings
• Experience working within interdisciplinary care teams in a fast-paced hospital environment
