Woodsby's Cafe is a family-owned restaurant with 25 years of roots right here in Kissimmee, FL. We've built our reputation on honest, home-cooked food served with genuine hospitality — and the community has noticed. Our menu runs the full day — breakfast, lunch, dinner, daily specials, weekly rotating soups, appetizers, and desserts — served across 82 seats, Monday through Sunday. Our kitchen is high-volume and fast-paced, and we take real pride in every plate that leaves the pass.

We're looking for a skilled, motivated Cook or Line Cook who wants to be part of something that matters — a kitchen that has stood the test of time and still has plenty of story left to tell.

THE ROLE

As a Cook / Line Cook at Woodsby's, you'll work across multiple stations — prep, breakfast line, grill, sauté, or expo — depending on your experience and the needs of the shift. You'll be a key part of keeping our kitchen running smoothly, consistently, and in full compliance with Florida health department standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

·         Prepare and execute menu items to recipe specification across all dayparts (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

·         Maintain consistent quality and plating standards on every dish, every shift

·         Work efficiently during high-volume peak service — particularly weekend rushes and morning breakfast pushes

·         Adhere strictly to all food safety, labeling, dating, and storage protocols in line with Florida health department requirements

·         Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift; complete opening and closing duties as assigned

·         Execute daily and weekly rotating specials as directed by management

·         Communicate clearly with your team and the front of house to ensure smooth, accurate, timely ticket flow

·         Assist with prep work, including cutting, portioning, marinating, and stocking as needed

·         Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures; rotate product correctly to minimize waste and support food cost targets

·         Flag low inventory, equipment issues, or food quality concerns to the kitchen manager immediately

·         Participate in menu tastings and training sessions when new items are introduced

·         Support a positive, team-first kitchen culture that reflects the Woodsby's family values

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

·         Minimum 1 year of line cook or kitchen experience in a restaurant environment

·         Solid understanding of food safety principles, proper sanitation, and health code compliance

·         Ability to work quickly and maintain quality under pressure during peak service periods

·         Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude

·         Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a warm kitchen environment

·         Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed (operating hours: Mon–Fri 7am–7:30pm, Sat–Sun 7am–8pm)

·         Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Preferred:

·         2+ years of line cook experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant

·         Experience on multiple stations (grill, sauté, breakfast, prep)

·         Familiarity with 7Shifts scheduling platform (a plus — we use it every day)

·         Awareness of food cost control practices and portion discipline

·         ServSafe certification

·         Experience cooking breakfast/brunch at volume
