CDR and State Licensure Dues Reimbursement Academy Membership Reimbursement CPEU Reimbursement Job Summary The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist helps plan, schedule, and coordinate the operations of the clinical nutrition practice and staff. Primary responsibilities include working effectively with associated personnel as applicable, participating in all nutrition-related programs and services, assisting in developing standards, monitoring performance for safety and efficacy, updating facility‑specific policies, supporting food safety, infection control, and cost‑control procedures, assisting with staff onboarding, interacting with facility management and professional staff, and maintaining professional competency. Essential Functions Follow and maintain policies, standards, and programs for optimal Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to residents, including malnutrition screening, individual clinical nutrition assessments using NFPE protocols, identifying nutritional risk, recommending interventions, follow‑up care and documentation, discharge recommendations, and caregiver education. Experience with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) assessment completion and documentation. Familiarity with the Patient‑driven Payment Model (PDPM) and its impact on reimbursement for residents at risk for malnutrition, obesity, and enteral/parenteral care. Assist with the team’s QAPI program by executing audits and adhering to established Clinical Nutrition standards and goals. Use equipment, resources, and programs to provide efficient, high‑quality care. Assist in the performance assessment process for Nutrition Care Supervisors, Dining Services staff, Dietetic Interns, or students, and contribute to their professional development. Participate in the budget process as applicable. Develop and implement nutrition and wellness activities appropriate to the specific needs of the resident population and demonstrate knowledge of age‑related issues. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other facility departments to provide a unified resident care approach. Participate in, develop, implement, and document in‑service education programs for Nursing, Dining Services staff, and other interdisciplinary personnel. Maintain and establish systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment, complying with CMS, USDA, FDA, DOH, OSHA regulations and local, state, and federal codes. Maintain compliance with NEXDINE standards of operation and client contracts. Maintain registration status through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and state board as applicable. Maintain professional continuing education annually. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment The job operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, televisions, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Environments include client facilities and the NEXDINE Corporate Office. Physical Demands Requires sitting, standing, walking, handling, reaching with hands and arms. Requires auditory and visual skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Travel No travel required unless scheduled training is deemed necessary. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential and at least 1 year of experience within long‑term care or healthcare settings. Point Click Care (EMR) and Dietech (Diet/Menu platform) are preferred, not required. Current ServSafe certification preferred or must be certified/re‑certified within 60 days of employment. Effective March 2022. Required Education and Experience Completed a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited university or college with coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Completed an ACEND‑accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or foodservice corporation, or completed it combined with undergraduate or graduate studies. Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Obtained/maintained required state licensure/certification to practice dietetics, if required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
