Drafter – Contract

We are seeking an experienced Drafter to support Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and other technical teams within a manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate AutoCAD drawings, managing engineering documentation, and supporting plant projects, process changes, and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Create and update AutoCAD drawings based on markups and direction from Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams.
• Work closely with engineers to develop working drawings for new equipment, system upgrades, processes, and structures.
• Participate in plant and process walkdowns to verify existing conditions and gather information for drawing updates.
• Maintain and organize engineering drawings and documentation in both electronic and hard-copy formats.
• Maintain drafting standards and ensure plant drawings comply with established standards.
• Support the Management of Change (MOC) process by ensuring drawings are properly updated and controlled.
• Maintain and update P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and other process-related drawings.
• Provide P&IDs and technical drawings to support risk analyses and EHS/ESHA activities.
• Update drawings associated with air permits and environmental requirements under the guidance of EHS/ESHA personnel.
• Maintain engineering scanners and plotters, including paper, ink, and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain required AutoCAD software licensing.
• Ensure drawings and documentation comply with company guidelines and plant standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience.
• Experience working with P&IDs, process drawings, equipment layouts, and/or engineering drawings required.
• Ability to interpret engineering markups and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
• Strong document control and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on AutoCAD Drafter who is comfortable working within an operating manufacturing facility. They should be able to conduct field walkdowns, understand process and equipment drawings, manage engineering documentation, and accurately incorporate changes into plant drawings and P&IDs.
