Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical‑Surgical Location: Columbia, MO Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,160 per week Shift: Days – 5 days Contract: 13 weeks Start date: 6/22/2026 About the Position The position is a medical‑surgical RN on a 24‑bed secured unit for at‑risk patients. The unit is equipped with video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti‑barricade doors, and a badge‑secured entrance. The RN will work 3‑day shifts, be expected to float to other units, and provide continuous nursing care for adult patients. Essential Job Functions Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult patients in a high‑risk, secured medical‑surgical environment. Chart patient care accurately using Cerner (preferred). Utilize BLS and CPI Blue Card (required for behavioral health patients). Perform central line, PICC line, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and wound care procedures. Administer medications, including insulin, heparin, and blood products. Interpret arterial blood gases, dysrhythmias, and monitor telemetry data. Implement infection control practices, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use. Respond promptly to rapid‑response and code team activations. Float between medical‑surgical units, ICU, and other applicable units as required. Requirements & Qualifications Current RN license in Missouri or a compact state. Minimum 2 years of post‑licensure medical‑surgical nursing experience. Experience working with at‑risk patients in a secured setting is preferred. Certifications: BLS; CPI Blue Card (preferred for behavioral health). Proficiency in central line access, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, feeding tube care, wound management, medication administration, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, rapid response, and code team participation. Experience with Cerner EMR (preferred). Travel & Scheduling The RN will serve a 13‑week contract with the possibility of working up to three consecutive contracts, followed by a mandatory 6‑month break.
