We are expanding and looking for highly motivated and compassionate employees. We are looking for someone who we can cross-train with experience at a veterinary hospital or a veterinary-related field.  From big dogs to pygmy goats to pocket pets, we here at Southern Hills Vet Hospital provide a family-like environment, fun atmosphere, and unparalleled care for our patients and team in the beautiful upstate hamlet of Tully. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent client communication skills, excel as a team player, a willingness to learn, and a love for all fuzzy critters, great and small, then we are looking for YOU to join our team. The current opening is about 30-40 hrs/week, but the applicant should have a flexible schedule when additional coverage is needed. There is no emergency coverage, overnights, weekends, or major holidays required.  Pay rate is dependant on experience and credentials.

Here is an overview of responsibilities and duties:

• Performs all duties in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies and procedures
• Receptionist duties such as answering phones, checking clients out, scheduling appointments, etc...
• Assists in the restraint of pets when necessary
• Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
• Providing general nursing care for inpatient pets
• Examining animals and checking vitals in preparation for the Veterinarian
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication
• Giving subcutaneous injections
• Assisting with house calls and farm calls
• Performs other duties as determined by the doctor
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and practice management software
