Ferguson is seeking a proven Outside Sales Representative - Residential Trade (HVAC/Plumbing) to drive growth and strengthen customer relationships within our Residential Trade business. This role focuses on supporting residential plumbing contractors, HVAC professionals, builders, remodelers, and other trade customers by providing industry-leading products, solutions, and service. This is a field-based sales role supporting customers in the Mobile/Baldwin County area. This position will need to be based in the same area. A fuel card, auto allowance, travel and expense card, company cell phone & laptop will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial plumbing contractors, HVAC contractors, remodelers, and other residential/commercial trade professionals.

• Drive sales growth by promoting Ferguson's extensive portfolio of residential plumbing, HVAC, water heater, bath, kitchen, and related building products.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits, customer meetings, and contractor outreach to identify project opportunities and strengthen customer partnerships.
• Collaborate with branch teams, showroom associates, vendor partners, and operational support teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Monitor local residential construction activity, remodeling trends, and competitive market conditions to identify opportunities for business growth.
• Educate customers on new products, pricing programs, inventory solutions, and value-added services that support their business objectives.

• Develop and execute territory sales plans focused on increasing customer spend, acquiring new accounts, and growing market share.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience selling to residential or commercial plumbing contractors, HVAC contractors, builders, remodelers, or other residential trade customers preferred

• A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment

• Ability to work occasional Saturdays in the showroom

• Ability to travel locally throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers, visit jobsites, and attend industry events.

This is a base plus commission eligible role, with no cap on your commission. The estimated total compensation range, based on performance and experience, is $80,000 - $150,000+.
