Job Description
We are seeking an experienced 5G Device & Protocol Engineer with strong expertise in LTE/5G NR performance analysis, QXDM log analysis, VoNR/IMS call-flow troubleshooting, protocol debugging, KPI analysis, and live-network validation .
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze 5G NR/LTE network and device performance and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
- Perform extensive QXDM log analysis to identify protocol, device, and network performance issues.
- Troubleshoot VoNR, VoWiFi, IMS, and SIP end-to-end call flows .
- Debug protocol layers including RRC, NAS, SIP, IMS, PDCP, RLC, and HARQ .
- Analyze network KPIs such as DL/UL throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, BLER, and MCS .
- Perform log and trace analysis using QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark/PCAP, XCAL/XCAP , and related tools.
- Conduct testing and performance validation in live-network and field environments .
- Identify device/network performance issues and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Develop KPI reporting and automation solutions using Python, SQL, Tableau, and/or Power BI .
- Work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex 5G/LTE issues.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with QXDM Analysis – Mandatory .
- Strong understanding of 5G NR and LTE architecture and protocol stacks .
- Experience with VoNR, IMS, SIP, and call-flow troubleshooting .
- Strong knowledge of RRC, NAS, PDCP, RLC, HARQ, IMS, and SIP protocols .
- Experience with protocol debugging, KPI analysis, and network RCA .
- Hands-on experience with QCAT, Wireshark/PCAP, XCAL/XCAP , or similar telecom analysis tools.
- Experience with live-network testing and field validation .
- Experience with Python scripting/automation and network analytics .
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing automated KPI dashboards and reporting .
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and Power BI .
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Candidates with strong QXDM analysis and hands-on 5G/LTE protocol troubleshooting experience are highly preferred.
