Sr. Manager, Sales Finance

A rapidly growing consumer products company seeking a Sr. Manager, Sales Finance. This individual will serve as a key Finance partner to the Sales organization, providing financial leadership across customer profitability, trade investment, pricing, promotions, forecasting, and growth opportunities.

This position is ideal for someone who is currently operating at the Finance Manager level and is ready to step into broader ownership, visibility, and influence across the Sales organization. We will also consider experienced Associate Finance Managers with meaningful ownership and recently promoted Sr. Managers who want to have a greater impact within a growing company.

This is not a reporting-only role. The Sr. Manager will work directly with Sales leadership to evaluate customer decisions, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure that revenue growth translates into profitable growth.

Sr. Manager, Sales Finance Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Finance partner to Sales leadership across customer planning, forecasting, pricing, distribution, and investment decisions.
• Develop and maintain customer and channel P&Ls with visibility from gross sales through net revenue, gross margin, and contribution profitability.
• Analyze customer, channel, product, and SKU profitability to identify margin opportunities and underperforming business.
• Evaluate new distribution, incremental volume, pricing changes, customer programs, and other growth opportunities.
• Develop financial models and business cases that clearly communicate expected revenue, margin, investment, and return.
• Prepare customer and driver-based performance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
• Partner with Sales to understand forecast changes related to distribution, velocity, pricing, product mix, promotions, service levels, innovation, and discontinued business.
• Provide financial oversight of trade spend, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, deductions, and actual spending.
• Partner with Sales to evaluate promotional programs and customer investments before commitments are made.
• Improve visibility into gross-to-net performance, customer investment, and trade rates.
• Conduct pre-event and post-event analysis of promotional performance, including incremental volume, sales, cannibalization, contribution margin, and ROI.
• Identify trade-spend risks and opportunities and improve forecasting accuracy and accountability.
• Develop processes and controls that strengthen trade-spend management and visibility.
• Evaluate customer pricing, product mix, pack architecture, and margin opportunities.
• Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams on customer negotiations and pricing recommendations.
• Support financial analysis for new products, customers, and distribution opportunities.
• Develop business cases incorporating pricing, volume, product costs, trade investment, cannibalization, and customer economics.
• Track the financial performance of new initiatives against original expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability through pricing, cost reduction, mix, or changes to customer investment.
• Lead annual planning and forecasting for gross sales, net revenue, trade investment, and customer profitability.
• Develop customer and SKU-level forecasts that connect commercial assumptions to the financial plan.
• Prepare monthly reporting that clearly explains performance, business drivers, risks, opportunities, and expected financial impact.
• Develop dashboards and analytical tools that improve visibility and reduce reliance on manual reporting.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support to Sales and Finance leadership.
• Help develop Finance talent through coaching, mentorship, and review of analytical work.

Sr. Manager, Sales Finance Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive Finance experience.
• Current or recent experience operating at the Associate Finance Manager, Finance Manager, or Sr. Finance Manager level.
• Experience within CPG, food and beverage, retail, or another consumer-focused business strongly preferred.
• Direct experience in Sales Finance, Customer Finance, Commercial Finance, Revenue Growth Management, Trade Finance, or a closely related function.
• Demonstrated experience with customer P&Ls, pricing, trade spend, promotions, gross-to-net, and profitability analysis.
• Experience partnering directly with Sales leadership and translating commercial activity into financial recommendations.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial-modeling capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, trade-planning, and business-intelligence tools.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, managing, or reviewing the work of other Finance professionals.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Comfortable operating in a growing organization with evolving priorities and imperfect information.
