Data Platform Analyst

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Platform Analyst for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role sits within the Enterprise Data Platform - Capacity Management Team and is responsible for analytics, executive reporting, and operational insights to support capacity planning and financial governance. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the Hadoop ecosystem to monitor, investigate, and resolve performance, storage, and capacity-related concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and resolve HDFS and Ozone related issues
• Investigate cluster performance, storage utilization, and capacity-related concerns
• Manage quota requests, storage allocation, and capacity planning activities
• Support application onboarding and data platform integration activities
• Coordinate with application teams during incident resolution and problem management
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies: HDFS, Hive, Spark, Ozone
• Experience with Hive Metastore management and table/partition maintenance
• Experience supporting large-scale data warehouse environments on Hadoop
• Knowledge of data ingestion, ETL processes, and data validation
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python automation
• Experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or similar Hadoop distributions
• Strong SQL and data analytics skills
• Demonstrated expertise in executive reporting and storytelling
• Highly organized with strong analytical and critical thinking skills (strategic and tactical)
• Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and insights
• Expert in JIRA, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio

Pay range: $43.56 - $51.56 per hour
