Staff Mixed Signal Design Engineer As a Staff Mixed Signal Design Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design and development of sophisticated mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) including power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and other mixed-signal blocks. You’ll make critical architectural decisions, drive technical innovation, and establish mixed-signal design methodologies. Your expertise will bridge both analog and digital domains, enabling you to optimize system performance while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance semiconductor solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the architectural definition and design of complex mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release Drive technical decisions for mixed-signal block integration, considering system-level tradeoffs and performance requirements Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and influence design approaches across teams Make critical architectural tradeoffs based on parameters such as current vs. voltage mode, performance targets, and power requirements Develop comprehensive verification strategies for mixed-signal systems and lead advanced laboratory testing Represent the design team to other functions and influence technical approaches without direct authority Contribute to the development of new theories and methods in mixed-signal design and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies Lead complex projects with significant business impact, often directing work of others without formal management responsibilities Must Have Skills Strategic Design: Make critical architectural decisions that optimize performance, power, and area across mixed-signal boundaries System-Level Integration: Drive complex integration of analog and digital IP blocks, ensuring robust performance across varied operating conditions Advanced Methodologies: Apply cutting-edge design methodologies and establish best practices for mixed-signal design Mixed-Signal Circuit Mastery: Apply expert-level knowledge to architect and implement sophisticated mixed-signal circuits including power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, and PLLs Performance Optimization: Implement advanced techniques for optimizing circuits across multiple parameters including noise, timing, and power consumption Verification Strategy: Develop comprehensive verification approaches for complex mixed-signal systems EDA Tool Mastery: Demonstrate mastery of industry-standard EDA tools including SPICE, MATLAB, and Cadence Design Suite Advanced Simulation: Apply sophisticated simulation techniques to predict and optimize circuit performance under various conditions Physical Implementation: Guide physical design teams on implementation strategies to meet performance requirements Design Innovation: Contribute to the development of new theories and methods in mixed-signal IC design Strategic Contribution: Significantly contribute to project proposals, staffing, and budgeting forecast Preferred Education and Experience MSEE with 7-10 years of relevant mixed-signal design experience PhD with 5+ years of experience Demonstrated track record of successfully taking multiple products from concept through production release Benefits We offer a supportive environment focused on professional growth, competitive compensation and benefits, work-life balance, and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that make a real impact on the world. The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $124,721 to $180,602. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
