Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular experience for a hospital Operating Room position.

Details

• Hospital Operating Room unit setting
• 3x12-hour Day shifts per week
• On-call requirement with 30-minute response time
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience required
• At least 1 year of scrubbing experience with cardiovascular (CV) surgeries
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or equivalent qualifying experience
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required, must not expire prior to start
• State license required if applicable
• Epic charting experience required
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Maintain sterile field and ensure environmental safety throughout procedures
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes
• Prepare operating room and instruments prior to surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations with sound clinical judgement
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new assignment
