Part-Time Floater Teacher – Daycare & Preschool
Location: The Learning Experience – South Lyon, MI
Pay: $16–$18 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–6:30 PM

The Learning Experience – South Lyon is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Floater Teacher to support our classrooms during the afternoon and closing hours.

This position is a great fit for a high school student, college student, or anyone looking for a consistent part-time afternoon schedule . You’ll work with different classrooms throughout the center, helping our teaching teams while creating a positive end to the day for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs 
• Assist teachers with afternoon activities, transitions, and pick-up routines 
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, and outdoor activities 
• Help with snacks, classroom cleanup, and end-of-day routines 
• Provide teacher break and classroom coverage as needed 
• Help maintain required classroom ratios 
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance 
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized classroom environments 
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements 

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred or currently attending high school 
• Previous experience working with children is a plus, but not required 
• Comfortable supporting different classrooms and age groups 
• Reliable and consistently available during afternoon hours 
• Positive, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented 
• Ability to meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
