Maintenance Staff

Location: Fall River Scattered Sites - SEMCOA - Fall River, MA - must be able to travel to New Bedford and Taunton sites as needed! Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Pay Range: $20-27/hr Status: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm About Us SEMCOA's (Southeast Massachusetts Council on Advocacy) mission is to advocate for and provide support to individuals, families, and communities in the areas of substance use, mental illness, domestic violence, homelessness, and parenting. SEMCOA operates four emergency assistance family shelters that provide supportive services to families and assist them with securing permanent housing. SEMCOA also provides residential recovery home treatment to individuals with substance use disorders, as well as transitional and permanent housing stability and support programs. Our portfolio also includes two graduate sober houses, the Family Preservation Program, as well as Greater Brockton and Greater Attleboro Taunton Healthy Families programs. Maintenance Staff Requirements Must present as courteous and professional at all times Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion Proficient and knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn including WorxHub Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner An understanding of the relationship between substance uses and mental health issues and/or self-help programs An understanding of boundaries and ethics Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Substance Abuse Confidentiality Regulations and HIPAA Regulations Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program Maintenance Staff Duties & Responsibilities Adherence to HPAO policies and procedures; Conducts daily facility walk-throughs; Respond to all maintenance requests; Ensure that the facility building, grounds and amenities are maintained in safe and attractive conditions: i.e. Lawn care, parking lot, building entrances, walkways and snow removal; Perform minor electric, plumbing, HVAC and building repairs; Patch and paint the facility as directed; Perform routine preventative maintenance on all maintenance, lawn care, housekeeping and floor care equipment; Perform routine preventative maintenance on all refrigeration units and other electrical appliances; Perform minor door alarm and lockset repairs; Conduct all delegated scheduled tests and inspections; Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings; Ensure that all departmental operations are conducted in a professional and productive manner; Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspections; Ensure that all departmental documentation, as required by HPTC/SEMCOA policies and all applicable regulatory bodies (BSAS/DPH, EOHLC, DMH, Joint Commission, etc..) are accurate and current. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Director of Environmental Services to ensure the safe and sanitary operation of the facility. Maintenance Staff Qualifications Ability to lift 50lbs; Valid Massachusetts Driver's License; Possess knowledge and skills needed to provide maintenance.
