Senior Material Handler

Pay Range: $23.00hr - $24.00hr


Job Overview:


Performs physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, and rejects unsatisfactory items. Operates forklifts as necessary, prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped, posts weights and shipping charges, and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines, and prepares kitting packages for assembly production.


Primary duties will include:

• Working in a shipping and receiving environment.
• Packing and unpacking of the organization's systems, accessories, parts, and components.
• Handling delicate and sensitive parts and materials with care.
• Daily interaction with ERP, email, and project management systems.
• Maintaining records of material movement.
• Following detailed packaging procedures for routine equipment combinations.
• Exercising judgment in safe packaging of less common equipment combinations.
• Communicating with individuals from different groups to coordinate the outbound flow of material.
• Performing cycle counts of inventory, including specializing in packing material used in primary work duties.
• Submitting timely replenishment requests for packing materials.
• Assisting in preparing kits for internal or external assembly operations as needed.
• Completing additional related activities as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in warehouse, shipping, or receiving operations, including experience in packaging sensitive equipment to protect against damage in transportation.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both face-to-face and through the efficient use of email and Microsoft Teams.
• Ability to keep track of high volumes of paperwork and inventory passing the desk.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be reliable and accountable.
• Detail-oriented with a willingness to ask questions to complete tasks accurately.
• Ability to perform efficiently and accurately when faced with high-pressure situations.
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Requirement to purchase and wear daily safety shoes with composite or steel toe.
