Key Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working in educational settings with visually impaired students.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners.
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the abilities and needs of visually impaired students.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed to foster academic and life skills growth.
- Support students within a range of classroom and community environments.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and accessible learning atmosphere.
- Guide and advise families on strategies and resources to support student learning and independence.
