Two Roles. One Standard.

This position is primarily warehouse work with a real secondary responsibility. When the operation needs coverage, you get behind the wheel. That means we need someone who is excellent in the warehouse and qualified and professional on the road. If you bring both, this is a stable, long-term role inside Florida's largest independent, family-owned HVAC and refrigeration distribution company.

What You Will Do

In the warehouse, where you will spend most of your time:

• You pull and fill orders with accuracy, receive and stock incoming inventory, and verify parts, serial numbers, and paperwork against physical inventory at every step.
• You operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, support cycle counts and inventory integrity, assist counter sales with order fulfillment, help customers load product safely, and keep the warehouse clean and organized to standard.
• Attention to detail is not a soft skill here. It is the job. A wrong pull or a missed serial number creates a real problem for a contractor downstream, and we hold that standard every day.

As a backup driver, when the operation calls for you:

• You safely operate Tropic Supply vans and light box trucks under 26,001 lbs GVWR on local routes. You complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, verify product accuracy, handle delivery documentation, and represent Tropic Supply professionally at every stop. Safe operation and accurate paperwork are non-negotiable.

Qualifications

What You Must Bring

Driving Requirements — Non-Negotiable

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license in good standing
• Motor vehicle record subject to review and approval per Tropic Supply driving standards
• Minimum six months of verifiable non-CDL commercial vehicle driving experience within the last three years
• Valid DOT medical certificate
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English for safety compliance, delivery documentation, and customer interaction

Warehouse Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum one year of warehouse experience in a distribution, supply, or logistics environment
• Experience with RF scanning equipment, warehouse management systems, and basic computer operations
• Sit-down forklift and pallet jack experience with ability to obtain or maintain certification
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently throughout a shift and sustain physical activity in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Strong attention to detail and a documented track record of order and inventory accuracy
• Organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing precision under pressure
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, safety materials, and company procedures

Preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Active sit-down forklift certification

Physical Requirements

• This role combines full warehouse shifts with periodic driving responsibilities in Florida heat. Candidates must be able to:
• Stand, walk, and remain physically active throughout a shift of up to 8.5 hours
• Lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 75 lbs unassisted
• Bend, stoop, reach, and kneel as required by picking, stocking, and loading tasks
• Operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently
• Push and pull loaded carts and hand trucks on warehouse and loading dock surfaces
• Operate a motor vehicle for local deliveries, including repeated cab entry and exit
• Work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment subject to Florida heat and ambient noise
• Wear required personal protective equipment throughout the shift
