This senior leadership role ensures the bank maintains compliance with applicable banking regulations and consumer protection laws with a specific emphasis on privacy requirements, while supporting strategic business objectives.Responsibilities:Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive consumer compliance and privacy programs across the banking organizationProvide strategic direction for consumer compliance and privacy initiatives while ensuring alignment with the bank's business goalsLead compliance risk assessments related to consumer protection regulations and privacy laws applicable to bankingMonitor changes in banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and privacy regulations (including GLBA, FCRA, UDAAP, Regulation Z, Regulation E, CCPA/CPRA, etc.) and implement necessary program adjustmentsCollaborate with legal, information security, and operations departments to implement consumer-focused compliance controls and privacy by design principlesDevelop and manage consumer disclosure policies, procedures, and standards for banking products and servicesOversee data breach prevention, detection, and response protocols specific to banking customer informationServe as a key subject matter expert on consumer banking regulations and privacy requirements to senior leadershipManage relationships with banking regulatory authorities (OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, CFPB, etc.)Build and lead a team of consumer compliance and privacy professionals and establish appropriate training programsReport on compliance metrics and program effectiveness to executive leadership and the BoardQualifications:Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in law, business, or related field preferred10+ years of experience in banking compliance, with emphasis on consumer protection and privacy regulationsDeep knowledge of banking regulations in particular state and federal privacy regulations including GLBA, RFPA, FCRA/FACTA, ECPA, California’s CCPA/CPRA, Virginia’s VCDPA, Colorado Privacy Act, and relevant state banking lawsDemonstrated expertise in privacy principles, data governance frameworks, and information lifecycle management as they apply to banking customer dataProven track record of proactively monitoring regulatory developments and successfully implementing changes to compliance programs in response to evolving privacy legislationExperience developing cross-functional privacy impact assessment methodologies and data mapping processes to ensure comprehensive regulatory coverageAbility to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical banking solutions#LI-JJ1 #LI-Hybrid #LI-OnsiteSalary Range: $200,000.00 - $220,000.00Cross River is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
