Physician - Radiation Oncologist with Mercy Joplin, MO

Find Your Calling at Mercy! Mercy Hospital Joplin is seeking a full-time Radiation Oncologist to join our well-established Commission on Cancer accredited cancer center in Joplin, Missouri. The role involves treating approximately 25 patients per day in a mature practice environment supported by a dedicated team of radiation therapy professionals. Responsibilities Treat approximately 25 patients per day. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes 1 RN, 1 prior authorization staff, 3 RTTs (with 1 supervisor), an I PhD physicist, a CMD, and the Director. Utilize Elekta Versa HD machine, 120 leaf MLC, and Hexapod robotic couch for patient setup. Plan treatments using Mosaiq OIS and RayStation treatment planning system. Employ C‑RAD optical surface guidance for precise patient positioning. Conduct CT simulation with GE 580RT large bore CT simulator. Participate in the multidisciplinary tumor board held weekly on site. Coordinate with the Oncology and Infusion Center departments, including onsite pharmacy support. Engage with nurse navigators, oncology social workers, and other support staff. Advise on active research initiatives and educational opportunities with Kansas City University. Leverage system-wide EPIC HER platform for documentation and patient care coordination. Develop leadership opportunities within Mercy as needed. Address diverse case mix reflective of the region’s catchment area.
