Mobility Tech

Join our team and help keep patients and staff safe. As a Mobility Technician, you'll assist nursing staff with patient handling and lifting tasks, ensuring safe and comfortable movement for patients who need extra support.

• Perform total body transfers such as bed-to-chair, bed-to-gurney, and floor-to-bed lifts.
• Reposition and assist non-ambulatory patients using proper equipment and techniques.
• Make regular rounding visits (about every two hours) to support patient mobility needs.
• Perform passive range-of-motion exercises as needed.
• Communicate patient observations and safety concerns to nursing staff.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Direct patient care setting, preferred.

• Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
• CPI must be acquired within ninety (90) days upon hire.

• Safely perform/assist with inpatient lifts/transfers, moves, positioning, and ambulation in coordination with the Patient Care Service.
• Prepare accurate and timely documentation related to patient care.
• Observe, report, and document questionable patient conditions to the RN on duty.
• Respond to requests promptly and make rounds at designated stations on an ongoing basis throughout the assigned shift.
• Maintain and enhance team service through team building with Nursing and other departments. Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of services continually.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit.
• Work independently with the ability to initiate interactions when needed for assistance or support.
• Provide personable and professional customer service.
• Train and assist with patient lifts and other patient handling maneuvers, as delegated by the supervisor in collaboration with the client staff.
• Utilize patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in compliance with hospital policies and patient handling protocols while using proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
