Job Details Job ID: 296646 Location: Kennesaw, Georgia Full Time Regular Locations Primary: 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144 Secondary: 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060 Job Summary Plans, develops, implements, and oversees programs and services in the assigned University Dining's retail and/or residential dining operations on a specific campus and/or location, which may include oversight of both front and back of the house operations. Responsible for the management of assigned staff. Responsibilities Provides a superior dining hall experience that meets the lifestyle needs of students Ensures that Kennesaw State University's self-operated dining program provides exceptional food variety, quality, cleanliness, and freshness Assists and coordinates with maintenance staff and KSU Facilities to ensure the dining program has equipment that is well‑maintained and functional at all times Responsible for labor management of assigned employees, including hiring, employee relations, performance management, and scheduling Assists department leaders in managing expenses, generating revenues, and the overall financial success of the dining program Assists leaders in implementing new culinary programs and promotions in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team Manages, trains, and develops staff to include direct reports Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Other Required Qualifications Manager ServSafe certified or obtains certification within twelve (12) months of hire Required Experience Two (2) years of relevant work experience at a food service establishment as a supervisor or assistant manager Preferred Qualifications Education. An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field Experience. Previous experience in a higher education food service setting in a supervisor or assistant manager role Abilities. Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines Communication. Able to communicate with a variety of internal and external customers Knowledge. Knowledge of and proficiency in HAACP Standards Skills. Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills; proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite; self‑starter; critical thinking, relationship building and customer service; strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills; strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette Other Information This is a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is not considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card). This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time.
