Maintenance Technician - Electrical

Electrical TechnicianDiagnose electrical and control malfunctions and difficulties and make repairs or adjustments as needed. Perform testing, installation, replacement or modification of components.Essential Functions:Install and maintain electrical system of the plant to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting, facilities and other electrical apparatus and gearComply with all codes, regulations and safety specificationsMaintain controls, values, and calibrations to make sure everything is functioning properlyDiagnose, isolate and correct electrical troubles involving repair and replacement of controls, motors, switches, PLC, servo drives, variable frequency drives, distributed control systems, instrumentations, re-routing of circuits and distribution center to balance load on AC and DC power systemsMake emergency repairs when necessary to off-set excessive down time and production delaysLay out installation for engineering specifications and drawings for major projectsUse instructions or manuals on installations, systems layout, and changeovers to complete project workDesign and carry out projects to improve safety, quality, production and ergonomicsAssign duties, instruct, and guide the work of electricians and contractors assigned to the projectsOther maintenance duties as assigned and requiredObserve all safety precautions especially lock, tag and tryAbility to work under pressureResponsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policiesResponsible for teamwork communication with production operators and supervisorsMust wear appropriate PPE at all timesUnderstand plant environmental and safety policiesParticipate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performancePerform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructionsUnderstand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructionsMust have initiative and exhibit good judgmentMust perform with safe work practices at all timesMental and physical requirements (must be able to perform the following without limitation):Physical dexterity: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, etc.Ability to climb on ladders to heights of over 10'StandingSittingReading for informationEquipment troubleshootingDuties/Responsibilities:80% - Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment30% - Troubleshooting machine and production problems10% - Other maintenance duties as assigned and requiredProblem-Solving:Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks quicklyMust be able to determine minute differences quicklyMust be able to concentrate and think clearly in a distracting environmentMust be able to effectively diagnose and solve problems
