Job Title: Registered Nurse I Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Direct Hire Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years of Direct Labor and Delivery experience License: Valid multi-state or State Registered Nurse License Certifications: N/A Must-Have: - Completion of the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing. - Ability to care for patients utilizing the nursing process. Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. The purpose is to monitor and evaluate patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients effectively. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care considering patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process accurately. Utilizes proper medical terminology and addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes patient education resources suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends in-services and meets unit education standards. Completes variance reports as necessary. Makes decisions using independent judgment from various alternatives that are subject to general review only in final stages. Coordinates activities of others without direct supervision. Leads others in the same work performed without supervision. Provides input on performance evaluations without being responsible for preparation or delivery. Works directly with patients and customers. Engages with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Interacts with external customers in person or via telephone. Collaborates frequently with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works closely with individuals at the Director level or above.
