Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly clients, focusing on their specific care needs and emotional states.

• Design and provide individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing common emotional challenges such as grief, anxiety, and depression associated with aging and life transitions.

• Serve as a resource for staff and family members by educating them on strategies to improve the emotional well-being of seniors, such as coping mechanisms and support frameworks.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for both residents and their families, particularly those facing end-of-life issues. This includes navigating complex family dynamics and providing comforting support.

• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient progress, treatment plans, and collaborative notes while adhering to state regulations and organizational guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role serves a diverse group of elderly individuals who may be experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. The ability to understand and empathize with the unique circumstances of this aging population is critical. Our clients may come from various cultural backgrounds, requiring sensitivity and the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches accordingly.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.

• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting, effectively preparing candidates for real-world challenges.

• Eligibility for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York.

• A valid driver's license in good standing.

• Exceptional communication skills, enabling the establishment of trust and rapport with clients and their families quickly.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly regarding administrative tasks tied to patient documentation and follow-ups.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide:
