Job Details Specialty: PACU / Post Anesthesia Care Unit Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - PACU RN Location: Wilmington, NC Employment Type: Travel RN Setting: Phase 1 Recovery Unit with Phase 2 recovery responsibilities Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Shifts Per Week: 3 Shift Duration: 12 hours Duration: 13 weeks Weekly Hours: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,490 - $1,570 Call: Once every 4 weeks Floating: Required to nearby overflow areas, including short stay Weekend Coverage: Varies Orientation: Individualized orientation based on experience level Charting: Epic Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience required Previous travel nurse experience required ICU experience required Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 PACU recovery Comfort caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Ability to manage patients with advanced monitoring and recovery needs Open to floating within or near the facility as needed Must be adaptable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities Provide high-quality postoperative nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia Monitor and assess patients in Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery Care for patients arriving from the OR, EP Lab, Endo, IR, MRI, and ICU Support recovery for surgical specialties including thoracic, vascular, neuro, ortho, plastics, ENT, urology, gynecology, bariatrics, and pediatric cases Manage patients requiring close observation, including those with more complex recovery needs Use advanced clinical judgment to determine readiness for discharge to Phase 2, home, the post-op tower, or ICU Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe patient outcomes Document care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate effectively with the care team Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for patients and families during the recovery process Apply now to explore this PACU travel nursing job in Wilmington, NC and join a healthcare team committed to excellent patient care.
