Design Engineer 3

Mechanical Design Engineer – Bloomfield, CT Essential Functions Responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and product requirements. Design, develop, analyze, and document product designs meeting functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements. Support engineering change orders (ECNs/ICNs) to ensure smooth implementation into production. Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work, including tolerance loops, drawings, bill of materials, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management, and failure root cause analysis. Execute designs using solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts. Lead and support new product introduction (NPI) activities within a manufacturing environment, ensuring smooth transition from design to production. Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering technical design. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions quickly. Self‑motivated and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks with minimal supervision. Experience in mechanical design, including 3‑D modeling and 2‑D drawing creation in PTC Creo (or similar CAD tools). Experience with sheet‑metal design for enclosures or busbar systems using PTC Creo and Windchill PLM systems.
