Position Summary The Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager is the highest level in KCI’s Project Management career path, responsible for overseeing highly complex projects or multi‑project programs. This role provides strategic oversight and direction, managing multiple project teams and guiding Project Managers to achieve cohesive, large‑scale outcomes. The Senior Project Manager ensures seamless coordination across numerous stakeholders, balances competing demands, and drives projects to successful completion. Key Responsibilities Guide senior project team to deliver complex water and wastewater projects from inception to completion. Develop and communicate the Project Management Plan, outlining objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety protocols. Lead contract negotiations, billing, workload planning and budget control to match or exceed project targets. Manage all aspects of the project(s), including technical staff, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Act as the primary client contact, maintaining open communication and addressing client concerns in a professional, timely manner. Create and update project documentation, quality assurance processes, and safety plans in compliance with KCI policies and QMS requirements. Mentor and develop lower‑level Project Managers. Analyze risks, identify mitigation strategies and maintain knowledge of relevant statutes and regulations. Monitor project performance against schedule and budget, preparing monthly progress and completion reports. Participate in business development: identify new opportunities, prepare marketing materials, lead proposal teams and engage in industry events. Use project management software and tools to maintain detailed, accurate project plans and documentation. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all scope and quality requirements. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of professional experience in water and wastewater design or related field. Professional engineering licensure required. At least 6 years (or 10 years equivalent) of experience managing large‑scale projects or programs. Strong leadership, organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and client‑facing skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills; knowledge of accounting principles to manage budgets and financial reporting. In‑depth technical knowledge of water/wastewater design and familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols and local regulations. Demonstrated success in growing business and recruiting new clients. Ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive project success. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field (AEC industry). Experience in contract risk management and delivery methods. Strong background in business development and marketing within the engineering sector. Required Certifications Complete KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training; pass the PM Board within six months of the start date.
