Help Desk TechnicianATA Services is currently seeking to hire a Help Desk Technician to work on a temporary assignment with the State of NM - Department of Information Technology. This position is NOT remote.Position SummaryHelp Desk roles, including Help Desk Technician and Help Desk Specialist, serve as the first point of contact for users experiencing technical problems. Help Desk Technicians combine technical expertise with customer service skills to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently, supporting both employees and external clients.Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to user inquiries via phone, email, or chat and provide timely technical supportDiagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including application configurations and connectivity problemsRun diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and implement solutions to restore functionalityDocument issues, resolutions, and procedures for future referenceAssist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and peripheralsProvide guidance to users on software usage and best practices to enhance productivityEscalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff when necessaryRequired Skills and QualificationsTechnical skills: Knowledge of operating systems, Microsoft Office, antivirus software, networking, and common business applicationsSoft skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilitiesCertifications (optional but preferred): ITIL, HDI, MCP, MOUS, CE, CCNA, or other relevant IT certificationsExperience: Prior help desk, technical support, or IT experience is advantageousATA Services, Inc., provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
