Life Safety Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Engineer to design and manage fire alarm, VESDA, security, detection, and life safety systems for large-scale, mission-critical facilities. This is a long-term role with exciting opportunities to work on cutting-edge semiconductor and data center projects while collaborating with top engineers and architects.

Position Highlights:

• Location Options: Tempe, AZ | Austin, TX | Portland, OR | Fort Worth, TX | Pittsburgh, PA
  
  
• Pay Range: $48 - $75 per hour (based on experience)
  
  
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  
  
• Travel: Up to 10%
  
  
• Assignment Term: Through September 2026, with strong potential for extension

What You'll Do:

• Lead design of fire alarm, VESDA, security, smoke/leak detection, and life safety systems
  
  
• Apply NFPA, NEC, IBC, IFC, and hazardous materials codes to ensure compliance
  
  
• Create 2D/3D models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP
  
  
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and code officials
  
  
• Mentor junior staff and take ownership of projects as engineer of record

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with ability to obtain PE license
  
  
• 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience
  
  
• Strong knowledge of life safety codes and electrical design standards
  
  
• Experience with fire alarm systems and manufacturer equipment (VESDA preferred)
  
  
• PE license, Revit proficiency, and data center/semiconductor project experience are a plus
