Registered Nurse Clinical Decision Unit

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Clinical Decision Unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this fast-paced, patient-centered environment, the RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients requiring observation, short-stay monitoring, and diagnostic evaluation. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, formulating and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, interpreting clinical data, and collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to determine appropriate disposition and timely transitions of care. The RN will monitor patient status, respond promptly to changes in condition, and ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record. The role includes patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination of follow-up services, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality outcomes, and service excellence. RNs in the Clinical Decision Unit at Mission Health function with a high degree of clinical judgment and autonomy, working within established protocols and standards of care while escalating concerns appropriately. The nurse will participate in unit-based initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and evidence-based practice projects, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of care delivery.
