Clinical Pharmacy Technician

As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician at Giant Eagle, you will play a key role in supporting our pharmacists and clinical care teams while delivering exceptional service to our patients and guests. Working within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will contribute to safe, accurate, and efficient medication-related services that align with Giant Eagle’s strong commitment to customer satisfaction, community involvement, and high-quality care.

In this role, you will assist pharmacists with day-to-day clinical and dispensing activities, including receiving and processing prescriptions, entering and updating patient and medication information in pharmacy systems, and preparing medications for final pharmacist verification. You will help support clinical programs by gathering relevant patient information, assisting with medication reconciliation, coordinating refills, and supporting adherence and wellness initiatives as directed by the pharmacist. You will interact directly with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and insurance representatives to clarify prescription details, resolve third-party insurance issues, and ensure that patients understand their medication therapy, all while maintaining a friendly, professional, and customer-first approach.

You will be responsible for maintaining organized, accurate inventory of medications and supplies, including ordering, stocking, rotating, and checking expiration dates to support safe and efficient pharmacy operations. You will follow established policies and procedures related to medication handling, safety, and security, ensuring that all tasks and documentation comply with state and federal regulations as well as Giant Eagle’s quality and safety standards. Attention to detail and strong adherence to HIPAA requirements will be essential as you work with confidential health information and electronic health records.
