Security Associate - Evening Shift The Global Security & Safety department ensures the safety, security, and well‑being of all ESPN personnel, guests, and assets. This role is based in Bristol, CT and requires evening shift availability (3:00PM–11:30PM) with flexibility to support business needs. Responsibilities Greet, screen, and direct all visitors following established procedures. Enforce company security and parking policies consistently and fairly. Monitor company property, identify and report safety and security hazards. Secure property as directed. Complete and issue hot work permits; conduct inspections per the hot‑work permit process. Conduct fire watch assignments in designated hot‑work areas. Provide appropriate general information for visitors and employees. Perform general security system checks. Perform access control duties at high‑traffic exterior posts per established procedures. Perform vehicle and truck inspections in accordance with inspection protocols. Respond to medical, fire, security, and other safety‑related emergencies and incidents as trained; write comprehensive reports following established procedures. Provide a security presence at special events on or off campus, coordinating barricades, gate operation, and traffic control. Complete special assignments as required. Accurately create work orders documenting requestors’ names, locations, and type of service needed. Create work orders and dispatch maintenance personnel to the correct location. Assist in distribution and tracking of departmental keys. Monitor handheld radio channels for HVAC, Electrical, Maintenance, Construction, and Safety. Receive and process all facilities service requests via phone, email, and radio. Monitor the main company external phone line and direct incoming calls as appropriate. Perform MSA X‑Ray screenings in the distribution center. Basic Qualifications Minimum of one year of security or law enforcement experience. Valid Connecticut Driver’s license. Valid Connecticut Guard certification. Pass pre‑employment background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen. Flexibility to work a varying schedule (hours, days off) and overtime as approved. Familiarity with computers, including MS Outlook, Word, Smartsheet, and Teams. Maintain a professional presence in image and interactions. Obtain and retain MSA certification. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of one year’s work experience in Facilities Management or related field handling service requests. Excellent customer service skills. Strong writing ability and command of basic English grammar. Strong leadership, judgment, and decision‑making skills. Highly adaptable and able to work well under pressure. Ability to perform tasks independently within established guidelines. Ability to operate company vehicles. Diplomatic control of difficult situations. Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Compensation & Benefits The hiring range for this position in Connecticut is $36,000 to $58,300 per year. Base pay is determined by internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
