Buyer Job DecriptionDepartment: Supply ChainJob Status: Full TimeFLSA Status: ExemptReports To: Director of Supply ChainLocation: Katy, TexasTravel Required: 10%Work Schedule:Katy, TX Monday–Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.Position SummaryAurelia Technologies is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement activities in our power generation and turbine operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and procure materials and components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to support production goals. Ideal candidates will have experience in turbine systems, industrial equipment, or energy sector procurement.Essential FunctionsThe following duties and responsibilities are all essential functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may."Source and purchase mechanical, electrical, and turbine-related components to support manufacturing and operationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, price, and delivery targetsMonitor market trends and supplier performance to optimize cost and lead timesCollaborate with engineering and operations teams to align purchasing decisions with product requirementsReview purchase requisitions and issue POs in accordance with company policiesTrack shipments, resolve delivery issues, and maintain accurate records in procurement systemsSupport negotiations for contracts and long-term supply agreementsEnsure compliance with quality standards and corporate procurement policiesIdentify cost-saving opportunities and support inventory control initiativesQualifications, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in procurement (power generation, turbine systems, or industrial equipment strongly preferred)Understanding of supply chain principles, inventory control, and contract negotiationsProficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred QualificationsExperience sourcing turbine parts or rotating equipmentFamiliarity with ISO standards and vendor auditsKnowledge of energy sector regulatory complianceAPICS or ISM certification is a plusPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
