Environmental Health Safety Engineer

Environmental Engineer | Global Manufacturer | Central Ohio | Onsite, Full-time

A leading global manufacturing business is hiring an Environmental Engineer for one of its US production sites in Central Ohio. You'll own environmental compliance for the plant, report to the site EHS Manager, and work closely with manufacturing, engineering, technical and corporate EHS teams.

What you'll do

Own site compliance with federal, state, local and corporate environmental regulations and policies
Manage Clean Air Act compliance, including Title V Operating Permits, New Source Review and Minor Source permits, with emissions reporting and documentation
Handle MACT compliance and reporting for chemical manufacturing operations, including MON MACT
Manage NPDES permits (Industrial and Stormwater) under the Clean Water Act
Run SPCC plan inspections and management
Oversee RCRA and state waste programmes (hazardous, non-hazardous, universal) for Large and Small Quantity Generator status
Develop and maintain emergency response and contingency plans, and serve on the site Emergency Response Team
Complete EPCRA reporting, including SARA 312 (Tier II) and SARA 313 (TRI)
Maintain ISO 14001 compliance
Build leading indicators to improve sustainability performance (energy, water, waste) and reduce spill incidents
Train and coach teams across the site to drive a strong EHS culture

What you'll bring

BS in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline
5+ years of hands-on experience with CAA, CWA and EPCRA permitting and reporting
5+ years in a manufacturing environment, ideally chemical or process manufacturing
Broad knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations
The confidence to influence and communicate at every level, from the shop floor to senior leadership
