Job Description Summary: Student in accredited Respiratory Therapy Program that provides all modalities of respiratory care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician in accordance with physician orders and policies and procedures.

Additional Job Description:

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Credentials: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Work Experience: No experience necessary but will provide on the job training.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to climb stairs, work indoors and outside in temperature extremes, and work from elevated areas. Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces, kneel, bend, twist, squat, and perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted, and maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, and overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment and maintain tactile sensory functions.
