About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour; Mid 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in specialty required; first-timers accepted License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Strong skills in general emergency department care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and starting and maintaining IVs. Description: Position is for an emergency room registered nurse. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 for days and nights. Weekend shifts are required with a schedule of every other weekend. Clinicians may float within the scope to meet facility needs. Work setting includes a general emergency department serving both adult and pediatric patients. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills are necessary. IV therapy skills, including starting IVs, are mandatory. Facility is an acute care teaching hospital with 149 staffed beds. Daily census involves approximately 125 visits per day. Patients range across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Those willing to accommodate a block schedule will not be accepted. References from a supervisor are required for submission. Travelers must comply with background check policies and fingerprinting requirements. All necessary compliance documents must be submitted by the designated deadline. Candidates are encouraged to inform of any vacation plans between sign date and start date.
