Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor Adaptable Care Unit

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join our Adaptable Care team. This role will be Full‑Time, nights (12‑hour shifts/40 hours per week) 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available. Job Responsibilities Conduct high‑quality shift huddles to discuss strategic priorities, barriers, rounding results, and staff engagement. Conduct safety huddles and delegate environmental and safety rounding, ensuring completion of Patient, Medical Director, and RN rounding for areas of responsibility. Round continuously on staff to remove or elevate barriers to quality care and enhance staff engagement. Review core measures, KPIs and other metrics, analyze unit‑based service outcomes, and develop action plans for systematic improvement. Participate in emergency and safety preparedness drills/trainings as required. Ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards relevant to responsibilities and keep team members informed. Support unit‑based quality improvement work and strategic outcomes through professional decision‑making. Serve as a role model in communication with patients, diffusing difficult situations and facilitating resolution. Minimum Qualifications Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school. If holding an ADN, must be within one year of completing a BSN. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute‑care Registered Nurse clinical experience. Certification: Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a privilege under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start; specialty certification (as required) within one year; completion of Charge Nurse workshop within 90 days. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, Step‑down, Neuro, or Telemetry strongly preferred. Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
