BIM/CAD Draftsman

BIM/CAD DraftsmanB.L. Harbert International is looking for a BIM/CAD Draftsman based in Birmingham, Alabama supporting the International Operations Group of BL Harbert International. Candidate will assist in the process of developing Building Integrated Models (BIM) to support construction projects through inter-discipline clash resolutions, quantity take-offs, and shop/coordination drawing development. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required.Responsibilities:Prepare and modify all trade (structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) models and details as directed utilizing Autodesk RevitPerform interdisciplinary coordination, shop/coordination drawing production and material quantification using Autodesk RevitHelp develop and execute project specific BIM plans/proceduresSupport engineering and construction teams in terms of dimensions, layout, quantity surveying, clash detection, etc.Create and examine Autodesk Revit content for adherence to company BIM standardsAssist in troubleshooting field construction issues and questionsCollaborate with design and construction teams to identify goals and communicate procedural changesParticipate in BIM coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings, and submittal review meetingsRequirements:US CitizenAbility to obtain and maintain US Government Security ClearanceMinimum 1-2 years of experience in Autodesk RevitPreferences:Undergraduate Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science/Technology or related disciplineExperience in highly technical US Government, civil/industrial or commercial design projectsExperience integrating Revit with fabrication and/or survey technology a plusPhysical Demands:To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overheadHave the ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawlHave the ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 25 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.Have the ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing requiredPossess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skillsPossess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environmentWork Environment:To perform the duties of this job, the employee:Must be able to work in an office environmentMust have flexibility with hours in order to better accommodate business needsB.L.
