Position Summary Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring a Federal Market Director to join our Buildings Sector located in Dayton, OH, New York City, Virginia Beach, VA, Miami, FL or Orlando, FL offices, with options for remote work. This position reports to the Executive Vice President of the Buildings Sector and is responsible for leading and managing multiple seller‑doers within our Federal Market while driving Woolpert’s reputation through client satisfaction, revenue growth, and superior service delivery. Qualified candidates will have strong leadership presence, exceptional organizational acumen, and a skillset that is directly impactful and equally influential. The role emphasizes achieving internal controls that align plan, execution, delivery, and strategic objectives, collaborating effectively with all departments to ensure priorities are properly aligned. Success will be measured through professional development, market penetration, and targeted KPIs with emphasis on gross sales and net revenue, grounded in Woolpert’s Project Fundamentals and Strategic Plan. Priority will be given to candidates with extensive Federal background, solid military connections, and alternative delivery / Design Build experience with government agencies in the US, Europe, and Indo‑Pacific. Essential Functions Create and assure conformance to a clear market development strategy and deliver on the sector's sales, growth, and revenue objectives for Federal agencies including Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, NATO, Veterans Administration, and others both in the US and abroad. Coordinate strategy with peers and colleagues from the Infrastructure and Geospatial Sectors. Provide leadership in developing and continuously evaluating short‑ and long‑term strategic financial objectives with an emphasis on sales and growth. Drive and own the market's business plan to achieve objectives aligned with sector and firm strategies. Build and deliver a trusted adviser reputation with Woolpert clients while growing revenue and profitability. Become a subject‑matter expert on clients’ business models and serve as Woolpert’s industry expert for all relevant market and financial data. Take ownership of the growth goals globally by building on existing opportunities and securing new clients to expand walletshare. Build, develop, and lead a team of Program Directors focused on Federal clients. Manage multiple priorities while meeting Woolpert and Federal Market, Buildings Sector needs. Minimum Requirements Minimum 15 years of leadership experience within the Federal Market. Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering; additional business degree a plus. Professional state registration in architecture or engineering a plus. Well‑connected in the Federal marketplace with a reputation as an expert leader. Strategic thinker capable of connecting vision and strategy to tactical execution. Strong presence and leadership skills with proven experience in building and managing cross‑functional teams. Strong organizational development skills with confidence in developing and delegating. Demonstrated ability to lead, build, and hold teams accountable, and achieve results. Demonstrated ability to communicate, engage, and build trust with clients and staff. Strong market knowledge with financial, analytical, and business acumen. Compensation Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay range: $196,600 — $245,800 USD.
