Sleep Lab Technician
Major Hospital
Job Summary A sleep lab technician works under physician supervision to prepare patients, operate monitoring equipment, and record physiological data during overnight or daytime diagnostic testing for conditions like sleep apnea Key Responsibilities Patient Preparation: Explain testing steps, review medical history, and attach sensors (EEG, EKG, and breathing monitors). Monitoring: Watch vital signs and sleep patterns in real-time; apply therapies like CPAP or BiPAP when needed. Data & Equipment: Calibrate testing devices, troubleshoot technical problems, and record accurate clinical data. Post-Study Duties: Disconnect patients, score sleep records, and compile reports for physician review. Qualifications CPSGT or RPSGT RRT
BLS/CPR
Education High school diploma or GED; completion of a specialized polysomnography program is preferred.
